- 1 bay leaf
- 8 cups of beef broth
- Fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of Worcesterine sauce
- Kosher Salt and pepper

- Thinly slice 6 yellow onions
- Add 8 tablespoons of butter with the onions
- Cook on low heat for 90 minutes to 2 hours while stirring occasionally until onions are caramelized
- Add 2 cloves of crushed garlic
- Add bay leaf, thyme, kosher salt, and black pepper
- Add 8 cups of beef broth
- Add 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- Add 1 tablespoon of Worcesterine Sauce
- Add Gruyere Cheese
